Privacy Policy

Effective 31 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data Legal Intelligence & Research Radar (LIRR) collects, why, and the choices you have. It is written with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 in mind.

1. Who we are

LIRR is operated by Ranjit Durgude, who is responsible for your personal data. Ranjit Durgude, Prabhukunj, Birdevnagar Jadhavwadi, Tal. Phaltan, Dist. Satara, Maharashtra 415523, India — email ranjit.durgude@gmail.com, phone +91 95357 76544.

2. Data we collect

  • Account details: name, email address and a securely hashed password, or your basic Google profile (name, email, picture) if you sign in with Google.
  • Plan and billing records: plan, period, amount, payment status and the order/payment reference returned by the payment gateway. We never receive or store full card numbers, UPI PINs or bank passwords.
  • Content you create: bookmarks, reading notes, feedback ratings, research ideas, case notes, watchlists, saved searches, submitted URLs and uploaded documents.
  • Moot voice practice: audio you record is sent for speech-to-text conversion to produce a transcript and feedback.
  • Preferences: legal-domain interests, digest and email settings, and campus code if you join a campus licence.
  • Technical data: session cookie, IP address and basic logs needed for security, rate limits and troubleshooting.

3. How we use it

  • To create and secure your account and provide the features of your plan.
  • To personalise recommendations from your interests and feedback.
  • To process payments, activate plans and send plan, trial and renewal reminders.
  • To send the daily digest, weekly radar or campus summaries when you have turned them on.
  • To prevent abuse, enforce fair-use limits and fix problems.

4. Service providers we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share only what is needed with providers who help run LIRR: cloud hosting and database, AI model providers (to analyse legal text, answer research tools and transcribe or voice moot practice), an email delivery provider (for digests and reminders), Google (only if you choose Google sign-in) and Razorpay (to process payments). These providers may process data outside India under their own security and privacy commitments.

If you join a campus licence, your campus coordinator can see your name, email and basic usage of the licence.

We may disclose data where required by law or a valid order of a court or authority.

5. Cookies and local storage

We use one essential session cookie to keep you signed in, and your browser's local storage to remember your theme and whether you have completed the guided tour. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

6. Retention

We keep your account data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete my account: your profile, notes, Research Lab, bookmarks, watchlists, saved searches and usage history are erased immediately. Payment records are kept, detached from your profile, because tax and accounting laws require it. If you ask us by email instead, we will complete the deletion within 30 days.

7. Security

Passwords are hashed, connections use HTTPS, sessions use secure HTTP-only cookies, and access to data is restricted to what each feature needs. No method is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

8. Your rights

  • Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct or update inaccurate data.
  • Delete your account and personal data yourself from Settings, or ask us to do it.
  • Withdraw consent for optional processing such as email digests (via Settings or by contacting us).
  • Raise a grievance with us, and, if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.

9. Children

LIRR is meant for law students and is not directed at children. Users under 18 should use LIRR only with the consent of a parent or guardian.

10. Grievance officer
